Unfortunately, today was worse than yesterday.  Although the nausea subsided a bit, the lethargy remained steady.  She slept for close to 23 hours today.  She only ate a few sips of soup and about an inch of an otter pop.  Cold things (popsicles, refrigerated water, ice) help soothe the inside of her mouth and throat.  She is starting to build sores there.  Clint gave us the suggestion that sucking on Jolly Ranchers helped him during his chemotherapy.  Mom seemed interested in trying them upon hearing the suggestion. When I arrived this evening, I rubbed her hand to let her know I was there.  She woke up, rubbed my face, and put her head back down.  Elois came in to read the Bible and pray.  It was a tad early to take her medicine so Elois asked her if she could stay awake for 20 minutes.  Mom gave her answer with her eyebrows.  We gave her the medicine early and she went back to sleep.  Around 10:30, for some reason the alarm was going off in her room.  She didnt seem to notice, even though I heard it from the other room.  She did however sense that I was in the room when I came in to turn it off.  Without lifting her head and in a barely audible murmur she said "I'm sorry, babe.  I'll feel better tomorrow."  I laid down with her, rubbed her back, listened to her whisper a dream she had about Soleil, and then she drifted back to sleep for the night.

For those of you that don't know, my boss, Col CJ Johnson, began a weekly prayer and fasting group when his brother, Clint, was diagnosed with leukemia nearly a year ago.   Against the odds, Clint has made a dramatic recovery and has moved into remission.  Col Johnson and his family were extremely kind to invite my wife and I to join the group as they added Mom to their prayer focus.  Each Wednesday we fast, pray and meditate on Scripture and focus areas.  If you any of you are interested in participating, please email me.
